The letter from school officials that arrived last month said Lisa Logan’s daughter was ready to take advanced placement classes next year.
But Bellamy, her daughter, who’s a sophomore, had failed several classes, and with a grade point average below 2.0, Mrs. Logan wondered why school administrators think she’s ready for AP art history, world history, English language, European history, human geography and psychology.
“Something’s just not right there,” Mrs. Logan said. “I’m not that great in math, but if you do that math, it just doesn’t add up.”
